PART TWO: Creating the Discipline to Let Go
Often we are not aware of how much stuff we hold onto, until spring cleaning! Then it takes Discipline to get started and that is both physical and mental.
It can be a daunting task but I have a few insights that may get the ball rollling. First know you will feel an intenal shift when you get busy clutter clearing. Its an actual ‘visceral’ thing. Although it takes energy, the less you think about it and get going, the more rewards you will feel.
Second, it helps to pick one small area and start there. When we look at ‘too big of a job’ then we tend to procrastinate, then we feel a ‘drain of energy’. This may help with the discipline aspect of the challenge.
Last, know that you are not just doing this for your home. Oddly enough, when we clutter clear, we get clear! People around us respond to us differently because we are suddenly ‘out from under a burden’.
Then watch magic happen.
